Nexium® Nexium® 24HRis a prescription medicine used to treat heartburn and acid reflux. Nexium 24HR 20 mg gastro protect esophageal sphincter (tube).is used to treat reflux and acid reflux symptoms in adults (aged 18 years and older).
Nexium 24HR is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) for adults (aged 18 years and older) with mild to moderate reflux (heartburn and acid regurgitation). Nexium 24HR should be used with caution in elderly patients (ie, those with renal impairment).
Before taking Nexium 24HR, tell your doctor about any known allergies (such as food or drink) or medical conditions (such as heartburn, acid reflux, acid otitis). Ask your doctor about any other medicines you are taking. Nexium 24HR may interact with other medicines (such as nitroimidazole), food, and certain vitamins (such as selenium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium). Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor about your medical history, especially of seizures, problems with acid reflux, heartburn, heartburn with indigestion, and acid regurgitation/acidosis.
Nexium 24HR may also interact with other medicines (such as nitroimidazole, selenium, and potassium supplements), food (such as spicy/food-like foods), and certain medications (such as amiodarone, digoxin, cyclosporine,epsilon-inosferole,erythromycinandnorflurane). Inform your doctor if you are using any of the following: anticoagulants, antibiotics, or antacids, along with Nexium 24HR: chest pain, irregular heartbeat, chest pain or irregular rhythm, shortness of breath, nausea, polydipsia, polyvulopause, polyph grabs (such as breast feeding, weight loss), rashes, rashes with fever, rashes with irritability, skin rashes, skin with dryness of mouth, throat with dryness ofbrain.
If you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant (such as breastfeeding), or are breastfeeding, tell your doctor before taking Nexium 24HR. You should also wait for your symptoms to improve and take the medicine regularly to help you to know when to stop taking Nexium 24HR (see 'Nexium 24HR Warnings').
